I can easily see why Benjamin said you could sell naked puts in an IRA account and a sales rep with Benjamin & Jerold told Mike Buckley he couldn't sell naked puts in an IRA account.

To be very clear, I'm not sure that it was a sales rep. In fact, since it was the person who answered the phone two times in a row it's likely that it wasn't a sales rep. Even so, the person's mistake was in telling me twice that the firm didn't allow any form of options traded in an IRA.
