Gosh, that thing will be almost as fast as a thunderbird 1.33 - and they'll be available to buyers by November- December if they're sampling in August-September. Pentium 4 chips for some time--that is until the company completely ramps up its 0.13-micron process in the first or second half of 2002. You might want to consider that AMD will have completely ramped it's .13 SOI copper process by then and will be using it to produce 64 bit desktop processors. And, since AMD doesn't use notched gates to turn its .18 into a .15, the move to .13 will be a more significant one for AMD than it is for Intel. :-) PS - Why is it so quiet on the Intel thread? Is everybody giving up on the company?
