How do you do case history on any company to see if they need business consulting?

Performance based on balance sheets and profit and loss statements(watch out for notes of explanation), coupled with management directions will be revealing. Then study management depth and identify their ability. Previous employment and success or lack of it on each senior management has to be studied. Projection of the business including each sector of industries has to be learned from many annual reports for changes in business direction. This will be summarized into a case history of management decisions and resulted performance.

With all that information, you have to write your own view of the business as if you are the chief executive. Your views will determine if the company under study will need business consulting and in what area. If you are a serious investor, you know you have to guide the management(do the business consultation) or else you may be forced to dump the stock you now own and love.
