Well, I really don't like to get into clashes of personality since the whole goal of these discussion threads it obtain a better understanding of the issues.

That said, there are some who, like an obsidian lightbulb, tend to cast far more heat, than light.

I also believe that conspiracies exist. But I also believe that these conspiracies tend to neutralize one another over the long run, denying the other the ability to dominate the political or economic system.

And has been stated here, we could just as easily see the California debacle as a conspiracy by statists who wish to gain ultimate control over the entire power infrastructure, with distribution being only their first step.

Control the ability to offer, or deny, individuals or corporations access to cheap power and you possess an incredibly powerful tool of government.

Do I really believe that's what's going on? About as much as I believe corporations willingly chose to bankrupt, and divest themselves of, assets made unprofitable by excessive regulatory control and union stranglehold over labor costs.
