More evidence that low cost, low power, networked multi-processing is the wave of the future for servers.

I saw that article. To play the devil's advocate for a change on low power, modular blade servers, there is a recession going on in capital IT expenditures, as the article points out. Wonder if the smoke and gloom may be cleared by the time these come out, or if they'll stagnate for a while. Not to say they won't take off at some point for the obvious reasons of density and low power at no or little sacrifice in speed.

I think the article overblows Transmeta's possibilities with HP. I think the scenario is like with IBM where they may use Transmeta until their own Intel implementation is ready. AMD, OTOH, must feel like the kid outside the candy store again; never any mention of them for these kinds of servers.

Where might you be living in Europe? Sounds intriguing.
