Hi Frank,

Your point about PCS systems obviating the need for life-line landlines is well taken. :)

Here's something completely different. A nuts & bolts question, as it were. This AM, I was in conversation with a friend and she was called away to answer the door. She said she'd call back and I went back to the threads. Couple hours pass and I wonder why no call. Turns out that my Qwest land line did not ring when she called back almost immediately. I didn't have any music running, so I should have heard the ringer, then I should have heard the TAD announce my message and hear her being recorded. None of this happened. I simply happened to glance at the TAD and see she'd called and left a brief message. This is the second time in a week I've experienced this aberrant behaviour. She indicated that when she called, everything seemed normal from her end, i.e. the phone "rang" 4 times and then the TAD responded. The first time this occurred last week, I called myself from another line and everything was fine. Same this time. Any idea what might be going on here? I assume there is something in Qwest's software that is run amok, and not a TAD issues, since it appeared to my caller that the ringer was normal. [[Of course, alternately, I' could be losing consciousness while my eyes are wide open. <bg> ]]
