I don't have the numbers, but telecom is a big consumer of chips and represented much of the recent growth of many chip companies. I read what Intel and National said. Both revised the hard numbers down. Both had positive hand waves for the quarter they gave no hard numbers for. AMAT and its sector have reported much lower orders. AMAT down 60% from its peak. AMAT forecasted flat to slightly lower orders from down 60%.

I am long a little AMAT, but I expect to buy significantly more in the 25 -40 range.

I agree that Greenspan is "panicked," and well he should be; I just wonder why there is so little panic and so much complacency on these SI threads.
