John, thanks for your comments. I'm constantly thinking about these issues, and I agree it's all connected. AMAT and EMC's fortunes are tied to whether killer apps for 3G happen, and whether there is a need for all that fiber to be lit. I am not at all certain of my current opinions, whether macro, sector, or company. The more experience I get at investing, the less certain of myself I become. My fixed plans are splintering into an array of contingency options.
