Mark, I've run into a wall on the xp installation. XP can't see the network. (It's always the network, it seems.) Well after much consternation and google searching, I found that Microsoft has dropped the netbeui protocol in favor of IP exclusively. This is a bad deal for many home networkers who use netbeui for lan and Ip for routing to the internet. It's a good security arrangement.

It seems there's an unsupported fix. Could you, or other Win 2000 user, email me the nbf.sys and netnbf.inf from the Win 2000 installation cd? With these files I think I can add Netbeui protocol, and be off and running. I just changed my SI options to include my email address, but if it's not available from SI yet, I'll PM you. And I'm also listed on your record of thread members who want to stay connected should SI fail.

Besides the network not connecting, the install was easy.
