It wasn't six moths ago. It was on April 2000 that I saw the carnage coming. (I should have been more assertive then, because I was right on the mark: I could have expanded my conclusion to the whole sector.)

Then I wrote that companies that depended only in the US market and had no global presence would be in trouble. IT is still the case of AFCI. The US spawned a plethora of small companies playing only in the access field as a result of the now defunct Telecom Act of 1996.

One Promatory -just to stay in the NT case- was lucky to have been bought by NT. Now NT is dumping it. AFCI always dreamed fo being bought ny a big player. But it have never been attractive enough. (Perhaps to be too much of a niche player.)

It has no future.
