Morning Jon! From the video.. Viscarra pointed out that placing shafts would be very costly.Somewhere between 700,000 to a million a shaft.If you need actual numbers I will scan the tape for this information.

Also,when this video was produce there were no roads to the area.Viscarra does state that to get to the site would be hiking to the site.Bikes were also mention as means of transportation.The equipment that could be used can be assembled in the field.So, Jon basically the way the Spanish and Portuguese got to the area.
