I think that the recent news is very positive for Sandisk. This article points out the sticking point in the Sandisk/Samsung talks - Sandisk wants a roylaty that is over the 3%-5% norm for technology licenses. Key technology patents can get a higher royalty; 6%-10% is posible and it looks that that is what Sandisk has in mind.

Another exciting piece of news is that Sandisk is redying their NOR memory technology that will help to increase densities and lower costs further.

Sandisk has stated that if Smasung tries to get around the ITC ban that they will seek to broaden the protection to include all suppliers who use Samsung NAND memories.

My intepretation of events is that little Sandisk is in a strong position to reap large royalties and increased sales as the hot new digital cameras and other products become mainstream this Christmas season.
