I feel safe with these companies, but I expect to buy them at significantly lower prices. In fact, when I get my chance to buy, most will not be able to commit in the face of the dire conditions. Good companies are not immune to market and economic conditions, but buying them when nobody else is, is the holy grail of investing.

AMAT, ASML,KLAC, NVLS - leaders in a fundamental technology industry with "impossible" boundaries to entry.

ALTR, LLTC, MXIM, XLNX - leaders in a fundamental technology with significant competitive advantages and boundaries to entry.

These companies don't depend on any one area of technology or end market. Their growth has been made more volatile by their strong participation in the growth (+/-) of the telecom and networking sector.
