GV, Re : "First of all, I don't think anyone can time the market. I certainly haven't seen anyone do it consistently and profitably"

I have heard that a lot, but have not heard a better alternative. Never time the market and go for loooong-term investing ? IMO, one has to have a timeline and/or selling stock price in mind, while holding a stock. (otherwise in the end all stocks will go down to zero!). And if you do have that, why not collect premium by appropriate writing CCs(if they exist) ?

Re : "You might as well go with futures, where the liquidity is better and the leverage is greater."

I have not looked into futures. I'll look into it to find out more. Thanks. Does it have a concept of trading premium for time like CCs ?

Maui.
