I know GSM has error correction. Last time I checked, HSCSD does not. Why pay good money for slightly faster (14.4 max vs. 9.6 max) data transfer that is deficient and buggy? If it screws up, the system flips the user to GSM. User gets pissed and pays more for the crappy extra time slot he had to use while HSCSD was screwing up his transmission. What case can be made for that bit of greed?
Oh, I forgot, it's a cure for GPRSux.

There is simply no case that can be made for HSCSD. Or GPRSux, for that matter. At least at this time.
