You replied... If true then it is a perfect example of my point that the church can not punish or preven abortions or contraceptive use. Catholics all over the world ignore the church on contraception (and less frequently but still quite often abortion), and of course it has very little influence over non-catholics on these issues.

We certainly don't disagree on that--but it wasn't my point. My point is that it is illegal (DUE TO THE INFLUENCE OF RELIGION), and it IS being done--IN SPITE OF RELIGION. So how does religion justify the deaths of the mothers?? I'm just wondering...
