UMC (2303 TT) expects to post sales of NT$4.6bn for June, declining 7% mom and 48% yoy, as the company announced that its total sales revenue in 2Q01 will drop 35% qoq. UMC seems to be suffering from high telecom exposure: 48% of its sales in 1Q01 came from the telecom sector compared with 31% for TSMC (2330 TT). Meanwhile, TSMC still insists that it can report flat sales in June.
