I'm so glad you were ok. And I just KNEW you would be doing good deeds in the aftermath! You are such a wonderful person.
I think young people DO respond in emergencies-- they like the excitement, they have the energy, and I truly believe that they have humanitarian motivation-- they WANT to help. I know CW worked like a beaver cleaning and Nan wrote yesterday that he had brought dinner over to them Sunday night that he had MADE. MY SON?? MADE DINNER??? I was speechless. And very proud. CW is such a force when he focuses that it's good to know the right motivations are in there-- it's not always easy to see. He told me last night that it was just chili from a mix and he was embarrassed that everyone acted like he was Wolfgang Puck.

The hardest thing for Nan was not the furniture, clothing etc.. she wrote yesterday that they had discovered all the family albums and pics had been soaked. THAT is a real loss.
I can't imagine what people without insurance are doing.
Churches fill an enormous social need becuase they are an organization already in place with people and funding that can leap right in. DId you find people who weren't normally involved stepped in also? Or was it the same faces you always see?
