Well, first, it was based on a premise: the preposterousness of your pretending to know what everyone does, and gratuitous assumption that they do not work. Second, banter that is largely whimsical ("Common Working Paleface"---- some attack) is hard to make out as mean, it is playing off itself too much. Third, no one killed you or put your head on a stick really, though I can see how the totem pole might have suggested the novel to you. Still, comparing a mild "send up" to actual violence shows a lack of perspective.....
