a addendum to the post i am responding to regards telcoms "Survival is everything in this environment, and we would reiterate: if you don't have complete confidence that a business plan is 100% fully funded, stay away. In such cases, your downside risk is all the way to zero. Of the stocks that we have mentioned favorably, the riskiest are unquestionably Broadwing (BRW) and Global Crossing (GX), though we believe that both are survivors. But if you want to place an even safer bet on the survivors go with Q, SBC, BLS, VZ, or WCOM. Qwest is at the top of our list and will remain there after today's news. While the others aren't the most scintillating investment ideas, they offer safety and upside potential as the competitive environment improves. - Greg Jones, Briefing.com"
