Or, you might also add that that we might call an election after just two years of power. So, unlike the US which gets stuck with 4 years of Clinton or 4 years of Bush, we get a chance to oust our Prime Minister much sooner.

As far as your dictatorship comment is concerned, have you ever tried to get a husband and wife to decide the color of paint for a bedroom? If you think you can get over 250 Members of Parliament to vote in unanimity on something considerably more important than canary yellow, you are most certainly living in a dream world.

Try running your household by committee. If you can manage to keep your toilet clean then maybe you can come back and suggest that a nation should be run by committee too.
