Yes they have. It is a good question what, if anything, AMD can do to get back into that market. I don't think their SC400 can be extended to be competitive and licensing a MIPS or ARM core would be derivative. If they are going to do something like that, maybe they should be a second source for Motorola's ARM-based Dragonball. It's not a bad design...
