I am a little hampered as this house's phone line seems so antiquated, it can only get about 26, not even 56K! Oh the virtues of country life.

Now, now, let's not blame this on "country life". I live out in the sticks on 5 acres and have super fast (> 900 kbps) cable. The problem is the slow rollout of broadband connections in the US.
