Quite apart from consideration of diabolical thoughts and five year dictatorships, it is possible to tease something of a likely scenario out of the debate. The Canadian government received yesterday a report from a task force on providing high speed access to communities across Canada. The tab looks like C$4 billion. The government balked, but did indicate that $C1.5 billion could be available from the Federal and provincial governments. The rest would have to come from the "private sector", although you can bet they will find some way to sting the municipalities too.
Stopping short of nationalization, there are many scenarios which could see NT products, services, consulting etc. being a shoo-in for this "National" effort.
