<<Clinton doesn't threaten this country.>>
A far wiser nation, back in the 40's, made sure that any inferior character elected to the White House could only threaten the country for 8 years. There should be a monument in Washington to that Congress, as they redeemed everything that Congresses had done wrong up to that point in US history.
We will have to finish their great work in the new century, applying the limits to their own offices and to the judiciary.
I'll make a deal with the liberals: Since I doubt they can get the House back for the next several cycles-and they know the House is far more important than the Senate-they can join us in a constitutional amendment enshrining federal term limits. In exchange, they can probably get their House for between 2 and 6 years. They might get some help on the USSC, too.
The country can survive it with the help of George Bush, and the long-run benefits of the demise of socialism will pay off in spades.
Imagine a Congress with no Pete Dominicis, Bob Doles, Ted Kennedys, Smilin' Joe Bidens, and many more. We are definitely talking Utopia here, except that, unlike Utopia, it's POSSIBLE... |
