So he really said "I'm a wiener"? On corporate welfare - It is a bad idea. There is a lot less of it than most seem to imagine. Where do people get the idea that things wouldn't be the way they are today without the government? The airline industry had its' own infrastructure and would have built it out but the government intervened and took it over. Same with the interstate highway system. Before interstates there was an interstate from NY City to Chicago. Each state built its' own segment and - funny thing - they all aligned themselves without the feds being involved. If the feds hadn't intervened we would have an interstate system today. It just wouldn't go from Morgantown West Virginia to Erie PA because there are not enough people who whould pay tolls to make that run. That segment exists for political reasons - not because the public needs it. I could go on and on and usually do.
