I march to my own drum. Right now I am working on some new recipes.

As to this post you had on SDI:

1. The technology likely will be outdated by the time the system is built. It's doubtful the technology even exists today.

2. If a rogue nation is intent on blowing up a specific American city, there are plenty of lesser-high-tech ways to do so without having to fire a missile from Iraq or North Korea or Libya.

3. Enactment of such a system will give the United States false security ... similar to the false security that the Maginot Line gave the French in 1938.

4. Spending billions for "Star Wars" will pad the wallets of corporate fat-cat friends of Cheney/Bush/Rumsfeld. (I think we're getting real close now to the truth as to why Bush is pushing this expenditure of American tax dollars.)

5. The "60 billion-dollar" price tag is a joke. It'll likely cost close to $1 trillion ... and still not keep out a suicide backpack A-bomber.

There are many multi-billion dollar "black" projects which you probably would believe are science-fiction. The majority of the American public is totally ignorant of some of the workable technology we now possess.

A person I know (with a doctorate in nuclear engineering) helped to develop a nuclear power plant that converts radiation directly to electricity. That was back in the 80s. This is the power plant for the orbital multi-pulse particle beam weapon which can make harmless missiles as they approach their apogee. It is run by a plasma-cooled super-computer and has multiple back-up redundancies.

The SDI approach is layered. It is very workable. University professors who proclaim some of the technology as "impossible" are unaware that we already have the workable technology.

The ABM technology is the lowest part of the shield. That is mostly what the press and public are aware of.

Despite NASA's public tests, we also have a small fleet of manned and unmanned space planes. Some of the public is familiar with Aurora, primarily flown out of the infamous "Area 51" at Groom Lake in Nevada and California's Edwards Air Force base. But there are deeper black projects. One of the most advanced: the black triangular craft that use enhanced stealth technology and advanced propulsion -- no jet engines. These are being spotted around the world now and are reported as UFOs, but they are ours.

You are basing your arguments on the technology you are aware of. Project ahead about 30 years in your mind to what we could have... surprise!... we have it now.
