I would suspect that, so far, the Canadian investigators have been given the run-around or are being led on to a wild goose chase. Also, I won't be surprised if those who are questioned are adhering to a code of silence or are simply being uncooperative. To be sure, the investigators have a most daunting uphill task that may well prove to be very expensive and time-consuming. Don't forget that the investigators are working in Indonesia, a country with entirely different customs and social ethics and which is also notorious for its blatant corruption at various levels of society. Also, the hot and humid tropical (i.e., extremely muggy) climate, the strange sounds and smells and the strangeness of lots of other things will likely, overtime, exert an adverse effect on the Canadian investigators. Note that any investigators who were often successful previously will most likely become embarrassed, demoralised and frustrated and will most likely blow their stack if they don't hit paydirt anytime soon. Then fresh troops and hence additional expenses and time would be required. IMHO, the investigators' chances of success are rather slim, at best. But, of course, a miracle is not entirely impossible!

For the sake of those who had been ruined by Bre-X, I do hope the investigators will be lucky enough to get to the bottom of things sooner rather than later. And help bring to justice the perpetrators of the scam of the century!
