Well, at this point, what WOULD be a good sign for SI? Stumbling onto a viable business model, I suppose, but that's not about to happen. Getting bought by Microsoft and assimilated into yet another lifeless tentacle of MSN's moribund mass, maybe that would help.

Let's face it, the days when excellent online resources sprang into existence from the head of the Venture Capital Gods, based solely on the dream of IPOing or selling out to Yahoo or MSN for fast billions, are gone, gone, gone. Like Elvis, there will be those who morbidly follow their bloated spectre, but it's over.
