Racial, gender, and ethnic discrimination is pretty stupid in all forms.

I'll put my female eye doctor, my Japanese general practitioner, my dentist (name Anderson but looks non-white to me), my wife's Japanese gynecologist, and my dog's female veterinarian up against all comers. Nobody should have the right to keep them from their appointed rounds.

In my own profession, forestry, there are not many non-whites. I've tried to interest a number of people different from myself to give it a try but people have the right to choose and not many want the disadvantages of a life far from town.

Bush has it right. People from diverse backgrounds will be attracted to an environment fueled by ability. They will shun false promises.
