When July - Aug - first part Sept..., comes around the volume tapers off and the markets are more thinly traded.

Sometimes it looks like there're range-bound as if the second line players are told to hold positions within targets. Other times it seems the market is just "Light" and moves quickly. Sometimes the difference is like Friday afternoons that goes on for days..., but never the less different. I believe the SPX also tends to go up.

Then it all changes after Labor Day when the fund managers square up the books.
