VideoPropulsion Taps Industry Executive for Board Mike Korodi to Become VPI Director SLINGER, Wis., Jun 20, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- VideoPropulsion, Inc. (VPI) (OTC BB: "VDOP" chart, msgs) announced today that Miklos "Mike" Korodi has joined the Company's Board of Directors.
Mr. Korodi is currently Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for PTSC, also known as Patriot Scientific Corporation (OTC BB: "PTSC" chart, msgs), the supplier of Java-based microprocessors currently used in all of VPI's products. During the height of corporate development in the Silicon Valley, Korodi was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year. It was appropriate, as he has spent his career building companies. He was the founder, Chairman, and CEO of Cellular Data, Inc., a wireless communications company, and the founding President of International Wireless Associates, a provider of consulting services.
VPI, which had been spun off from GENROCO, Inc. (OTC BB: "GRCI" chart, msgs) a year ago, announced last month that it expects to merge with its former parent in the near future, subject to approval by shareholders and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The Company plans to focus its efforts on providing hardware and software products for the emerging interactive television and high definition digital video image processing market.
"For almost a quarter of a century, Mike's career has been in building successful communications technology companies," declares VPI Chairman, Carl Pick. "He is well known for finding creative solutions for the development and marketing of new, innovative products and will be a tremendous asset to our burgeoning organization."
Prior to creating Cellular Data, Mr. Korodi founded and was President of Warner Amex Cable Communications Security Systems, a joint venture of Warner Communications and American Express. Previously, he had been Senior Vice President of Warner Cable Communications and also Vice-President and General Manager of the QUBE Division of Warner Cable Television, a partnership between Warner and Pioneer Electronics considered the forerunner of most of today's interactive communications technology enterprises.
Barbara Pick, President and CEO of VPI adds, "Mike is well connected to many major players in the digital television industry. We are very excited to add his abilities to our team."
Mr. Korodi is the holder of seven patents and has been a Board member for such companies as Micron Industries, Cincinnati Microwave, Biorex, Inc. and many others.
"I believe that there is an extraordinary opportunity today to help VideoPropulsion develop a leadership role in the deployment of interactive digital television content and delivery," says Korodi. "Look how companies like Cisco and 3Com have become giants by providing infrastructure for networking done by people leaning forward over their computers. How big can entrepreneurial companies which offer infrastructure to the much larger crowd of interactive TV users leaning back in their recliners become?" he queries.
