Just got back, and listen to JOE KIERNAN basicly critisizing the European socialistic methods. The gist of Joes comment was basicly highlighting how the American capitalistic environment was better than the socialistic methods of Europe in terms of financial strength.

In fairness to Joe, I think that Joe is correct that when evaluating national financial strength American capitalism seem to be more effective.

However that is only in terms of financial strenght. Im no expert in Europe, but what about social/cultural strength. How does the European system measure up to the American system when it comes to issues of morality, crime. I heard somewhere on TV, that the total number of crimes in California equalled the number of all crimes in Europe. Cannot confirm such info or support it with any other details.

So if that is true, on the issue of crimes, wouldnt it be a fairer judge of a society to not only focus on one aspect and look at the whole picture, all aspects of the society. Joe, in his commentary only focused on the money issue. Is that the TYPICAL AMERICAN - where money is the most important issue, and to some thats all that counts?
