What, like the Carter administration? Like the LBJ administration, which oversaw the creation of a welfare underclass?

The Republicans lost the Senate because of a double dealing Senator who has always been more Democrat than Republican in any case. It sure isn't the overwhelming loss that Clinton experienced when he lost the WHOLE HOUSE majority to Newt's Republican sweep. Ooops.

Shooting bullets with bullets already has proof of concept - the Patriot. Been there, done that. Putin says a lot, but what gets said behind closed doors is what is important, not what is said for public consumption. FACT of the matter is, no missile shield would be effective against a major nuclear power like Russia - too many missiles. The missile shield is no threat to Russia, and they can't afford a new arms race, and don't think all parties involved don't know it. China objects because they are afraid of a theater missile defense which would cover Taiwan, and neutralize their cross-strait missile forces they have been building up for so long.

I am not surprised you haven't "heard" a thought from me yet, richie, as you wouldn't recognize a thought if one managed to creap into your tiny brain from the maze of wax that is your ears or the pudding that lies in your eyesockets.
