Wednesday June 20, 6:30 pm Eastern Time Broadcom chips increase satellite TV reception 35 pct LOS ANGELES, June 20 (Reuters) - Products based on a new set of Broadcom Corp.(NasdaqNM:BRCM - news) microchips can improve the reception of consumer satellite television equipment by a third, Broadcom said in a statement on Wednesday. Satellite television operator EchoStar Communications Corp (NasdaqNM:DISH - news) said it planned to incorporate the chipset and had sent more than 35 percent more programming through its equipment in tests of the new products, the BCM4500 Advanced Modulation Receiver and the BCM3440 CMOS Satellite TV Tuner. EchoStar, which operates the DISH network, has not announced new products based on the Broadcom chips but the technology would let it beam more channels, a spokesman said. Ibexx
