Encompass Announces $27 Million in Military Facilities Contracts

HOUSTON, June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Encompass Services Corporation (NYSE: ESR) announced today that it has been awarded three contracts totaling approximately $27 million for projects at United States military facilities.

The contracts, awarded to Encompass' Mechanical Services business group, include the following projects:

-- The construction of a pressurized hydrant fuel system at MacDill Air

Force Base near Tampa, Florida, home of the United States Air Force's

6th Air Refueling Wing. The project includes a 2,400-gallon-per-minute

pump house, 12 hydrant outlet fueling pits, two one-million-gallon

above-ground fuel storage tanks, fuel transfer piping, and electrical

and process controls. This award is another example of Encompass'

success in cross selling and bundling of services, as an Encompass

Mechanical Services business unit teamed in the bidding process with an

Electrical Technologies business unit, which will perform the

electrical work on the project.

-- A new aircraft fuel storage system at Naval Air Station Fallon, near

Fallon, Nevada, the United States Navy's premier tactical air warfare

training facility. Work includes a 1.3-million-gallon above-ground

fuel storage tank, stainless steel fuel piping, a pump shelter, three

loading islands, an underground electrical distribution system and

process controls.

-- The construction of two new operations buildings at the United States

Navy's Special Operations Facility and Boat Maintenance Facility at

Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. Work includes the

installation of mechanical, electrical, communications and fire

protection systems.

"These awards demonstrate the strength that lies in the diversity of our operations," said Joe Ivey, Encompass president and chief executive officer. "Our selection as the prime contractor for these projects is particularly gratifying because they were awarded through a negotiated process based on factors such as quality, experience and safety record, instead of strictly on price. They are excellent examples of our emphasis on delivering total value to Encompass customers."
