This is the story with MSFT today: "Meanwhile, state attorneys general have renewed their interest in Microsoft (MSFT) and, in particular, in the likely effect on competition of the software giant's new Windows XP operating system, the Associated Press is reporting. At their meeting this week in Vermont they will consider a new antitrust lawsuit against Microsoft, prodded by a group of its competitors that includes Oracle (ORCL), Sun Microsystems (SUNW) and Netscape, a subsidiary of AOL Time Warner (AOL). Microsoft and AOL Time Warner recently failed to agree on the inclusion of a link to America Online on the Windows XP desktop. "Goldman Sachs analyst Rick Sherlund downplayed the importance of any new lawsuit in a note to clients, urging them to focus on the appeals court ruling in the original Microsoft antitrust case, which is expected any day now." yahoo.smartmoney.com And one analyst is saying that the Appellate Court is likely to uphold the monopoly ruling.
