The quote of the week last week had to come from Bear Stearns’ (BSC/$52.25) chief economist Wayne Angell, as the former Fed governor said, “the U.S. is not going to have a depression.” I looked at the statement again (under the symbol BSC at 9:55 a.m. last Thursday) and sure enough he had used the “D” word!
