There are a lot more children killed by their parents than get published in the statistics. How many would there be if there were no legal consequences? If every parent who got angry or frustrated with a crying baby was free to kill it with no legal consequence? If we didn't grant rights and legal status to the infant? More than we have now, I'm quite sure.
