One analyst speculated on the call that Talisman could sell its Sudan assets to Lundin Petroleum, the spinoff company that will have assets in both Sudan and Russia.

"It has not been discussed," Buckee responded, adding that he didn't think that was a deal that would happen down the road.

In particular, he suggested Lundin Petroleum wouldn't have the financial reserves to buy Talisman's Sudan assets, "not all of it," he said.
