A and B were both asserted on at least 3 of the statistics pages I made available to you! All I did was paraphrase them. In the absence of any overriding data from elsewhere they are true for our discussion.

Repating this idea again and again doesn't make it true. The pages of stats that you posted specifically said that the developed world and the undeveloped world have a similar abortion rate. You take that fact (which until and unless I see contradictory evidence I will accept as true for our discussion) and claim that this is the same as saying that abortion rates are almost exactly the same in countries where it is illegal and countries where it is not illegal. But "similar" does not equal "almost exactly the same", and "developing countries" does not equal "countries where abortion is illegal". You can post all the stats you want but even if they are detailed and undisputed it does not cover up for this basic hole in your logic. The stats might be just fine in the sense that they are accurate (and I have no reason to suspect they are not), but accurate stats does not make up for faulty logic.

Also remember this whole sub branch of this dicussion started when you claimed that I said ""Illegal abortions present no danger to women."

My (Solon's) quote: "the statistics show very clearly...the religious opposition was not reducing abortions, but only endangering mothers".

YOU!!(Tim) "The statistics show no such thing."!!

Again the statistics show no such thing if they don't show both parts of the statement. And they don't. Perhaps some link or some link off one of your links shows something likes this but if so you did not quote it, you kept repeating the same quote about abortion rates in the developing world which once again is not the same thing as abortion rates in countries that abortion is illegal. And again even if they where the same, showing that the rates are not different in these different countries does not show that the law makes no difference because of all the other differences within the different countries. You use statistics to very solid support one thing and then claim that they support something else. This is a basic flaw in your logic.

In the same fashion, I see that you have now made the ridiculous pronouncement (again, in opposition to the web sites I made available to you, and again, without one shred of supportive evidence) that the African countries are mostly legalized!

I have to hand it to you. You are very clever. You don't say I said something that is the opposite of what I actually said, instead you quote me as saying something similar to what I said, similar enough that people might not notice that what you are quoteing me as saying is different then what I actually said. What I said is "I haven't heard anything about it being illegal in most countries in Africa." Someone following this conversation might vaguely remember that statement and believe your claim that I said "the African countries are mostly legalized". The two statements are superficially similar but they have very different meanings. You are very good at making powerful attacks that just miss the target and then making it look like your attacks actually hit the target.
