Skrappor och glad Johanne, pxtten stod pa Janne.
By birth somewhat bilingual, although above one might still be a very local thing for the minority on this side of the bay??
Midsummer is Juhannus, the day of Janne (Johan,John), in finland, the day of whoever that was, don't know why, but I hope I will find out in time for some future midsummer.
Anyway, this is the time of fertility and connecting, raising poles and antennas towards the warm sky, decorated in flowers and ornamented circles, and if lucky, girl meets boy and we older ones rejoice those years.

Hmm., something about "gaddan leker i vik och vass, solen gar ner over nagons(??) dass" also comes to my mind from the internordic academic connections long time ago. (That service point must have been pretty straight in the south??... or maybe it was a happy spring song??)
Anyway, nypotatis och sill is great... (smetana och gurka, with honey, too) |
