Standard & Poor's Announces Changes in S&P 500 and S&P MidCap 400 Indices
NEW YORK, June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P 500 and S&P MidCap 400 Indices:

* S&P MidCap 400 component Zions Bancorp (NASD: ZION) will replace ALZA
Corporation (NYSE: AZA - news) in the S&P 500 Index after the close of trading
Friday, June 22, 2001. ALZA Corporation is being acquired by S&P 500
component Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ - news). The transaction is still
subject to shareholder approval. Colonial BancGroup (NYSE: CNB - news) will
replace Zions Bancorp in the S&P MidCap 400 Index.

Zions Bancorp is a financial holding company that owns and operates six commercial banks with a total of 374 offices. The company, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, will be added to the S&P 500 GICS Banks sub-industry group and the Banks (Major Regional) industry group.

Colonial BancGroup, Inc. is a bank holding company whose principal subsidiary, Colonial Bank, conducts a general commercial banking business. The company, headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama, will be added to the S&P MidCap 400 GICS Banks sub-industry group and the Banks (Regional) industry group.
