per quarter, per quarter, per quarter....sorry for the mistake...AXC in spending 2 mil per quarter, not per month.
Have been too busy making money the old fashioned way....making hay while the sun shines...ok really selling lots and lots of tomato and basil plants and color bowls. I'm doing very well this year because the playing field has been leveled, due to energy prices. I have a low tech operation by design, and now so do all the other growers! And they don't have the 7 years experience to know how/what to grow without all those fancy fans, heaters, pumps, lights, etc. Anyway, I put down the hose finally and came here again. Sorry for the long silence, and I'm sorry if my last post seemed so dismal. It was dismal to see Ed have to admit to all the bad news, and not be able to give any clear hint of new deals to come. I think my confidence was really gone when I said to him at the end of the meeting, "Good luck and see you next year", and his reply was "I hope so". I tried not to put that feeling in my post but I guess it crept in as I went through the bad news. I have decided to take his comment to mean that he might be replaced (still trying to put the best spin on everything?) instead of AXC's demise. The fact that the stock price hasn't fallen since the meeting gives me hope that the pursestring holders are willing to keep it together until the economy turns.
Regarding Jubimer's question about the ADS buyers.....you are right, Ed said that they were talking again to the buyer who wanted too many patents, as well as to a new potential buyer.
Regarding ITG3 technology....as near as I can recall, it is a refinement of the original ITG1 technology, not something completely new. It has been patented as well but it is in the patent pipeline after the first two, so ShapView is most likely ITG2, until the ITG3 patent is granted. I spoke with Karen after the meeting, with Nick and a few others, and she did her best to let us know that iNextv was going to survive and that they were very busy with several new deals. However, as Ed said, the ad agencies were not pouring money into new business models at the moment, so the future was hard to predict. So, now that some of these deals have been announced, they can gain momentum in branding, and also participate in new revenue structures. No one really knows what will be the best way to make money here, as several of the posts here have shown, but Ed (and thus Karen) were adamant in keeping ITG3 as a trademarked brand. Only if that doesn't work, will licensing be considered. And, as Nick posted, Ed was very adamant that the company would keep going and he was strong in the face of a potentially very ugly meeting. I didn't mean to imply that he wasn't, I was trying to put a neutral spin on what I reported, and not be spouting the gospel of true belief....Ed and Karen did that very well........
And of course I am still a believer because I haven't sold any stock, and I think that the corner is finally in sight, in spite of all the debt and the dead market for tech real estate. AXC hasn't turned the corner yet, and it may be a far smaller company when it does, but I am encouraged by the fact that the stock isn't at .02.....so somebody with real money is guiding us through this. How long they are willing to do this remains to be seen, but why quit now!!!!
Back to lurking in the dark (literally),
