OT-FO AD, Your points are well taken. Not to beat a dead horse, but here is some more info on GLW. I cut and pasted the following from that Netcog site on the internet were articles, etc. are monitored:

John Loose, CEO of Corning

GLW celebrating 150 year anniversary at its shareholders meeting today.

GLW down 85% in the last 52 weeks.

Telecom business has been a disappointment for them this year.

This is a long distance/haul problem they are seeing.

Long haul market is only 10-20% of overall telecommunications business.

Fiber sales to international, cable customers, and incumbent carriers is
very strong.

Are selling more fiber this year than last.

Their new factories are running full, but they are slowing down the pace of
new factories.

They have reduced employment by 4300 people, primarily in photonics
business.

There is more fiber in the ground than is needed right now, and it will take
a couple of years to use it all.

Has not seen a decrease in Internet traffic. He sees it doubling every year.

Again, how about that statement "a couple of years to use it all". I read somewhere an estimate that it would be 8 years for the longhaul fiber market to pick up, and one article said all this fiber may never be used. It must be this new math I heard about.

John
