Thanks for the info Roger...OT from suits: Here's some info re Metacrawler's Dad...Metacrawler was what led me to GNET in the first place....it was a great search engine...Today, maybe Jain doesn't want to pay royalties to Etzioni for Metacrawler....

What is interesting is that he is at Madrona VG today...Again, people in similar industries know each other, and talk to each other...the bigger we get, the smaller we get, if you get my drift...

The story, the WHOLE story, will eventually come out, IMO anyway.

Etzioni is a Venture Partner for the Madrona Venture Group. He is the former Chief Technology Officer of Go2net and a co-founder of Netbot, inc. which was acquired by Excite in 1997. At Netbot, Etzioni helped to conceive and design the first major comparison-shopping agent. In 1995, Etzioni and his student Erik Selberg developed MetaCrawler, the web’s premier Meta-search engine – now operated by Go2net. He also is a co-founder of Clearforest, an Israeli startup which is becoming an international leader in text mining. Etzioni has served as a consultant to Microsoft, Northern Telecom, Excite and Askjeeves.
