Rob--a market maker trying to scare the nervous out of shares at a cheap price would be a good bet. Hang in there.

By the way, Leagel Beagel has let me know recently that the lawsuit against G&S and their insurance company now has some set dates--jury selection on August 7 & 8, with the trial starting on September 17 ( another very lengthy trial has been scheduled in between). It is likely that there will be a number of pre-trial motions filed before jury selection starts, of which the most critical will be the request of GOE to allege and try to prove fraud--sustaining a fraud charge successfully would automatically triple any damage award, so the threat would substantially increase pressure on the other side to negotiate a settlement. The insurance company has changed their South Carolina law firm and Judge Duffy has already rejected a request to use this action to delay the trial any further.

A question was raised on this thread earlier about what has happened to the SEC investigation of the Carraways--that issue hasn't been in Duffy's court recently and Leagel has no reliable information, but he has heard at about third hand that there have been settlements negotiated with everybody involved in the case and that Bill will get off with a very minor slap on the hand that will not affect his ability to keep operating the company. As to why the negotiated settlements--assuming they exist--haven't been announced, no one knows. A cynical friend of Leagel's suggests that the SEC is embarrassed by having not taken any actions against G&S and wants to find some appropriate way to bury the issue. They may be waiting for the outcome of the upcoming trial. Sooner or later, something is going to have to be posted to the public record.
