GENROCO Breaks Own TCP/IP Record
/FROM PR NEWSWIRE 800-682-9599/ TO BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY EDITORS: GENROCO Breaks Own TCP/IP Record PORTLAND, Ore., June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Six months ago, GENROCO, Inc. (GI) (OTC Bulletin Board: GRCI) reported achieving a record 127 megabytes per second (MB/s) of sustained TCP/IP throughput using the Company's GSN-6466 PCI Gigabyte Systems Network (GSN) host bus adapter (HBA) on a Sun Microsystems Ultra 60 running the Solaris operating system. Last week at a Sun Benchmarking Center here, GI demonstrated a new, Solaris-based Sun Microsystems Sunfire 6800 receiving 270 MB/s via TCP/IP with the GSN HBA -- better than twice the December record. The previous best ever reported on an open systems platform had been 67 MB/s on a Sun machine using SBus OC12 ATM. Only SGI's proprietary XIO bus GSN HBA has achieved better results than the GENROCO hardware and software. Don Woelz, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for GENROCO, said, "We have now clearly shown customers and partners that our Company can deliver real, open systems interfaces which can sustain streams of uncompressed HDTV, 4K film, and other high bandwidth imaging. GENROCO is grateful to be working with Sun on pushing the edge of the data movement envelope. We believe we can further improve on these results in the months to come." GENROCO expects to announce several GSN design wins during the next several months.
