G., MF used to short in their real money, model portfolio. I haven't followed them in the past 3 years so I can't comment on their current practice. They were quite picky about what they would short. Overvaluation wasn't sufficient reason. etc... re Long Trough Period. If we look at actual orders during the past Q, rather than moving averages, the sector has already been bouncing along the bottom for 3 months. I'd be surprised to see it stay down for more than another 3 months. Ian. P.S. I've been surprised before. :-(
