To imply that fraud happens in the technology sector more than in other sectors is just goofy...it happens in all industries.

Technology has been the benefactor of much of the start-up funding in the last thirty years, and as such suffers from a large amount of business failure. But I believe the percentage of failures is actually significantly lower than in most business start-ups.

The number of failures in the dot-com business (for example) is more typical. And although it depends on technology to work, the dot com is not a technology sector business.

None of the dot comes failed because their Cisco server or firewall failed to deliver...or their DSL line did not deliver the full bandwidth...or the internet was clogged...they failed because they did not know how to start and run a business, period.

If you want to blame anyone, go after the VCs and IBs that put way too much money into dot com dreams...
